L’Arte dei bancalari a Genova alla luce della tassazione speciale del 1630
|

Un nuovo approfondimento sulla categoria professionale in oggetto si giustifica sulla base di documenti fiscali ancora non del tutto sfruttati. La trascrizione della pandetta dei bancalari, redatta per la tassazione speciale delle Nuove Mura di Genova del 1630, restituisce una vera e propria fotografia della situazione delle maestranze attive in città al giro degli anni Trenta, con i lavoratori del legno che emergono numerosi nella sequenza di maestri, lavoranti e pueri.

This new study regards the specific category of ‘bancalari’ presents in Genoa in 17th Century. The focus is based on fiscal documents not yet considered in comparison to aech other. The list of artisans was written in 1630 for a special tax imposed to support New Walls of Genoa and the transcription photographs the situation of wood sculptors and woodworkers, from masterpieces to their laboratores and pueri in the typical division of artisan workshops.
